A free radio-dispatched accompaniment service for anyone traveling on and around campus at night.
What is Safewalk?
Safewalk provides a safe alternative to walking alone at night around the campus community and beyond. Safewalk was created not as a reaction to crime, but as a proactive step to build the safest possible campus community.
Safewalk volunteers patrol campus throughout the year.
Safewalk is free of charge and is available to any member of the surrounding community—undergrads, graduate students, staff, faculty, and members of the public. Whether you don't like to walk alone after dark, or would just like some company on your trip, give us a call!
To use Safewalk, call 4-WALK-ME (492-5563). Our dispatchers will send a 2-person team to meet you and walk you anywhere within our boundaries.
You can also approach any patrolling team on campus or come down to our office (room 030-E, on the lower level of the Students' Union Building) and talk to the dispatcher in person.
Had a walk already? Fill out our client post-walk survey online!
