The Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA) in collaboration with Alberta Solicitor General and Public Security is beginning an on-going project to compile an inventory of current crime prevention resources available in Alberta.

We are asking you to assist in this effort by providing ACCPA a list of crime prevention resources that your organization maintains or produces that you could make available to Albertans via our Crime Prevention Resource Centre due to come on-line in FY 2005/2006.

We are interested in any resources related to crime prevention activities in Alberta, including websites, pamphlets, videos, toolkits, workshops, studies and other materials that your organization produces and whether these resources are available for free or for a fee.

Once compiled, our intent is to publish this inventory and make these resources available to Albertans through the Alberta Crime Prevention Resource Centre (ACPRC). This will be an on-line, searchable database where our members and the public can obtain access to free and fee based resources by download, through the on-line ordering system, or by contacting the originating organization directly.

ACCPA will maintain a small inventory of the most popular resources for distribution. In general, the ACPRC will simply act as a clearing-house for materials produced by the originating organization. In some cases, the ACPRC may be interested in entering into production and distribution agreements for the re-branding of particular resources.

If your organization produces crime prevention resources that you would like to make available on a provincial basis, please complete the relevant sections on this worksheet and return it to the ACCPA office.

The resource centre will be an on-line system, therefore, if you have an existing list of resources that you can simply send us electronically, it will reduce our need to duplicate your effort by manually entering this information into our own database. Alternatively, you can download and complete this worksheet in MS Word format and e-mail the completed worksheet(s) to the ACCPA office at info@accpa.org.

We thank you for your efforts to assist ACCPA in preparing this inventory. We are currently working on the redevelopment of our website to facilitate the addition of the on-line resource centre. The process of completing an initial resource inventory will greatly assist us in determining how the on-line resource centre will be developed in the months to come and we would look forward to your comments and suggestions regarding this project.
