ACCPA is excited to host our first live conference in two years at the Coast Canmore Hotel and Conference Centre from May 9 – 11,

2022.

This year, we’re trying something new. There will be an extra-special luncheon on Tuesday, May 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Silvertip Resort in Canmore. All conference delegates, and the general public may purchase tickets to this exciting event. There will be no membership discount on this event, as funds raised through ticket sales will be directed to charities selected by the very generous partners who are sponsoring this luncheon.

The luncheon will feature a presentation by journalist and author Rachel Snyder. The theme of her presentation, Every Voice Counts, will address various facets of domestic violence.

In addition to authoring a number of books, Snyder has also written for the Washington Post, the New Yorker, the Chicago Tribune, and other distinguished journals. Her latest book, No Visible Bruises: What We Don’t Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us unflinchingly examines the causes and effects of domestic violence, global consumerism, race and class prejudice, and other issues that impact society-at-large.

Having spent 20 years travelling the world covering issues surrounding human rights, Snyder is now an Associate Professor

of Creative Writing and Journalism at American University in Washington D.C.
